Rs 8,000 crore fraud exposed: Barrackpur police arrests five, Unravels international financial scam

Barrackpur's Intelligence Department, under the Barrackpur Police Commissionerate, has uncovered a massive financial fraud amounting to Rs 8,000 crore. The department arrested five individuals, including the alleged kingpin, from a five-star hotel in Dehradun. The investigation revealed that the accused orchestrated the fraud by enticing elderly individuals abroad, gaining access to their computer software, and siphoning off thousands of crores from their accounts.

The arrest comes after the police, acting on information from secret sources, conducted a raid on a call center near Balram Hospital in the Khardah police station area on October 18, apprehending 10 individuals. Recognizing the significance of the case, Barrackpore Police Commissioner Alok Rajoria entrusted the Intelligence Department of the Commissionerate with the further investigation, leading to additional arrests on October 25 and, subsequently, at a five-star hotel in Dehradun three days ago.

The unfolding international financial scam involves allegations of manipulating and embezzling funds from elderly individuals residing abroad. The arrested individuals are suspected of luring their victims and exploiting vulnerabilities in computer software to carry out the fraudulent activities. The arrest in Dehradun follows the concerted efforts of the Barrackpur Police Commissionerate's Intelligence Department, emphasizing the gravity of the situation. The investigation into this intricate fraud scheme is ongoing, with authorities working to ascertain the full extent of the financial losses suffered by the victims.
